High temperature resistant gloves are used in many industrial links. The most common one is the protection of the hands of operators in high temperature environments. We divide high temperature into three situations: 1. High ambient temperature; 2. High radiation temperature; 3. Contact high temperature.

1. High ambient temperature: This is equivalent to the temperature in the weather forecast. It is difficult to use protective equipment for protection in daily life and industrial operations. (Individually, you can use a cooling vest to cool the body. We will discuss this in other places. ) Air conditioning is generally used to cool down. Basically not involved in hand protection.

2. Radiation high temperature: This is equivalent to the temperature in the hot summer, which is caused by heat radiation such as the sun or fire. In this case, the widely used protection method is reflected heat, such as using aluminum foil to reflect the heat. Partially radiates heat.

3. Exposure to high temperature: This is the high temperature that we generally mentioned, the temperature of many casting components, metal accessories and other objects in the industrial field. In industrial operations, personnel are required to move or touch the high-temperature parts. At this time, protection against high temperatures is required.

Many misunderstandings in buying heat-insulating and heat-resistant gloves (protective contact temperature):

Is it possible to equip suitable gloves as long as the temperature of the contact object is provided? Why should contact time be considered when choosing high temperature gloves? How long can high-temperature gloves be in contact?

Two factors that must be considered when choosing high temperature resistant gloves are: contact temperature + single contact time. These two factors are indispensable. The temperature of the contact object is to consider that the glove material of the contact surface of the glove and the high-temperature object will not undergo physical or chemical reactions due to high temperature, such as burning or carbon after reaching the ignition point, or oxidation after high temperature. The single contact time is the time when the temperature from the outer surface of the glove reaches the inner layer of the glove and exceeds the temperature that human hands can tolerate. If your single contact is less than this time, then it is within a safe time range.

Therefore, when choosing suitable high-temperature gloves, two priority points must be considered: 1. Whether the temperature of our actual object exceeds the temperature of the glove we announced, and the single contact time does not exceed the heat conduction time of the glove at the actual object temperature.


Under the above two necessary conditions, we also need to consider related factors:

The weight of the object to be transported, generally, the heavier the weight, due to the greater the force of squeezing the glove, the shorter the heat conduction time of the glove, and the shorter the time for a single contact with the hot object. The frequency of contact with the object, the shorter the idle time between single contacts, the shorter the heat conduction time. If the frequency is too high, it is recommended to increase the heat dissipation time or change the gloves. The hand shape and thickness of the gloves are relatively thick, and the heat-resistant gloves are relatively thick. Because in the same situation, the thicker the gloves, the longer the heat transfer distance, the longer the allowable contact time, but the heavier the gloves, so we advocate the choice of high-temperature gloves. In the case of meeting the protection requirements, the more dexterous the better. The mechanical properties of gloves, high-temperature resistant gloves are mostly contact metal castings, which require better mechanical properties, generally including wear resistance, anti-cutting effect, and anti-cracking performance. These properties are also directly related to the service life and direct economic utility of thermal insulation gloves. Other properties of gloves, such as the special environment used, such as many electronic industries, need to use high-temperature gloves in dust-free workshops, so high-temperature gloves are required to not shed dander and be anti-static. For example, when contacting high-temperature objects with liquids, the outer surface of heat-insulating gloves is required to be waterproof or even acid and alkali resistant.
